2026 Alabama Flag Football Season Hub

Current 2026 AHSAA flag football coverage from the 2026-09-09 rankings snapshot: statewide ratings, update cadence, and what the early schedule can and cannot tell us.

This hub is the starting point for the 2026 Alabama high school girls flag football season on Flag Football Analytics. The live ratings snapshot currently covers 148 teams, 207 completed games, and 207 rated games. The data is rebuilt from the DragonFly/AHSAA schedule feed by the repository pipeline and published as a static JSON file, so the table is reproducible rather than hand-curated.

What changed this season

The state is now organized around four flag football championship divisions: 6A, 5A, 1A-4A, and Private. That matters because a school's playoff path is divisional, but its rating is statewide. A 1A-4A contender can still rate ahead of many 6A teams, and cross-division games are useful evidence rather than noise.

How to read early ratings

Early September ratings are intentionally provisional for teams with fewer than 4 games. The model blends last season's information with this season's scores, caps extreme margins at 28 points, and estimates home field at 2.12 points. That gives a useful statewide ordering, but it is not a playoff seed list and it should not be read as certainty.

Data and methods

Numbers on this page come from public/data/rankings.json, generated at . Scores can lag because teams and schools do not always enter results the night games are played; a missing result is usually a feed-timing issue before it is a model issue.
